At internet scale, accurately identifying and categorizing domains that appear in a third-party context is complex and time-consuming. Google also needed clarity on the business purpose of each domain and whether it truly fit MDL criteria.

Google established formal criteria for MDL inclusion and partnered with Disconnect to apply those criteria using our rich, continuously maintained domain-intelligence datasets.
